What’s Coming in uCONVERT 2.4.021

The next version of uCONVERT, 2.4.0 is only a few weeks away (we anticipate a release early April), so here’s what’s going to be included in the update:

  • Alphabetical sorting of units to make finding them easier
  • Choose your top 3 categories rather than just one
  • The last time exchange rates were updated is displayed in the Settings screen
  • Alternate right-handed layout with the same layout as the left handed one but the list of categories on the right
  • mmH20 added to the Pressure category
  • Cubic millimeters added to the Volume category
  • The list of units will be left (rather than right) aligned if the uCONVERT interface is right-handed
  • Performance improvements
  • Better separation of SI and Binary information units
  • Polish, Swedish, Turkish and Chinese languages

We’ve also been alerted that the Argentine Peso (ARS) is being incorrectly labelled as the Australian Dollar. This will be fixed shortly and should be corrected the next time you update the exchange rates.

We’d also be interested to know whether users would like different themes or styles for uCONVERT – let us know in the comments below.

I use the German version. There is an error in the speed conversion. The abbreviation for kilometer per hour is "km/h" and not "k/h". The second error is a wrong category name. The lightning symbol shows different power units (watt, horsepower etc.) but it is labelled with force (German Kraft) and not with power (German Leistung).

uconvert is a great and very useful tool! For my business trips I would appreciate if you included some more currencies like Kenyan Shilling (KSh), Tanzanian Shilling (TZS) and Cameroon Franc (XAF) etc. Thanks

I am in the US and would like to see inches of H2O? Anyway that can make the 2.4 cut?

I'd like to see the time conversion feature expanded so you can convert a time in one country to a time in another. This is very handy for international travellers. So I can do things like "if it's 2:00pm on the 25th in the US, what time will that be in Australia, so I can book international meetings, conference calls and so forth. Really handy feature!

it would be good to incorporate a scientific calculator into this, and use the top as a reminder screen that looks like a paper feed. All in all a good product.

Please, include Troy Ounce for gold measures.

great application, i just downloaded and purchased immediately.

it would be great to be able to select which currencies you want to see from the long list by default.
or at least be able to select the order you want to see them via favourite currencies.

ie comparing the UK pound to the Aussie dollar requires a lot of scrolling (and scrolling is slow in this software).

it would be good to have favourites in each category.
ie under weight, i may want kilograms and pounds to appear at the top of the list

I really like the app. I use it on a Samsung Omnia II I8000), It would be very helpfull if the currency converter, saved the last used currencies. Or you must be able to set prefered currencies. So you won't have to scroll through the different currencies when your on holiday.
